2003: Scott and Daniel Stedman launch The L Magazine from their Brooklyn apartment


November 2003: Legendary boxing match at Gleason's Gym; The L Magazine defeats NY Press


2006: Launch of SummerScreen in McCarren Park


2008: YourLocal.com launches  


2009: Northside Festival launches featuring over 400 of the city's brightest burgeoning bands playing along side nationally known indy heavyweights at Brooklyn's coolest venues.

Artists have included; Beirut, War on Drugs, Sharon Van Etten, Guided by Voices, GZA, Wolf Parade, Kurt Vile & the Violators, Grandmaster Flash, Brian Wilson, Run the Jewels, Colleen Green, and many more. 

 

 


March 2011: Brooklyn Magazine makes its debut


2012: Northside Media Group launches as the umbrella company for The L Magazine, Brooklyn Magazine, Northside Festival and SummerScreen


2012: Northside Media Group commenced publishing partnership with world renowned Brooklyn Academy of Music's monthly BAMbill


2013: Mike Conklin named Editor-in-Chief


2013: Northside Media Group presents the inaugural Taste Talks food & drink conference

2014: Taste Talks expands to include Chicago, furthering the reach of Brooklyn as a unique and viable aesthetic with national appeal


2014: Brooklyn Briefly launches as a daily newsletter on the latest happenings in Brooklyn


 

2014: Brooklyn Magazine debuts top rated iOS App


 


2015: Northside Media is acquired by Zealot Networks 


2016: Northside Content is added to Northside Festival, exploring what's next in original video content 

2017: Northside Report debuts at the 9th Northside Festival 


2017: Northside Media repurchases itself from Zealot to become an independent company 


2020: Northside Media closed. Brooklyn Magazine was sold.
